Report by Lucas Grainer

The 4th round of the Austrian Nationals and the 1st run ever on astro turf was held at ERT-Steyregg on 9th and 10th of September 2017.

The weather predictions were not the best, so we decided to drive 3 qualification runs on Saturday. The track at ERT-Steyregg is an astro turf course, which has fast and also technical passages.

On Saturday after 3 runs with my 4WD PR SW401 LW powered by Hobbywing, I could qualify in A-main as 7th. With my 2WD Team Associated B6, also powered by Hobbywing, it was possible for me to also qualify in A-main as 3rd.

The weather remained dry on Sunday morning and we could continue with the competition.

The finals were awesome! I pushed hard and stayed clean when it was required - according to Stefan Pfeifhofer RC.

2WD A-main: I could finish as 3rd.  2nd became Philipp Märzinger 2nd (great job Märzi) and Hupo Hönigl became 1st.

4WD A-main: Sadly I only finished 10th.  It was really difficult to compete against the Xray XB4 and Team Associated B64 cars, but we are still working to make our car better and better!

In both classes I was awarded best youngster.
